We operate from a farm in Calhan, Colorado, about 35 miles east of Colorado Springs. This place is close enough to serve the Colorado Springs community but far enough to make sure that the people who are involved in our program have an opportunity to transition in a different environment. Individuals experiencing homelessness are involved in the whole value chain of farming from acquisition of animals and plants to raising them, growing them, taking care of them, harvesting and distribution. Because these individuals are directly hands-on in the whole process, they also learn high level skills such as marketing, sales, networking, management, logistics management, bookkeeping, planning, leadership etc. We believe these are essential skills to get them into high paying jobs.
The type of farming we do is organic free-range pasture raised poultry for both meat and eggs, organic free-range beef and organic free-range pork. We also grow fresh vegetables for consumption by the community we serve and our employees.
Please support us by purchasing our farm produce. Our produce is reasonably priced, all proceeds go towards the homeless transition program.
